Watch out for the dream busters
Beware, the ‘Dream Busters’
Sadly, you may sometimes encounter people who want to put you in your place, wipe the smile off your face and bring you down to their level. The sad thing is, a few words from a dream buster can stop you in your tracks and kill your ambitions forever. So be prepared and be aware. You will probably hear one or more of the following comments as you start heading towards your goal:
“What do you want to do that for?”
“You’re just selfish and obsessed”
“Do you think you’re better than everyone else?”
“You’ll never stick at it, you’ll get bored”
“There are far better things to do in life than chase a dream!”
Unfortunately, we don’t always realise the effect that the garbage people tell us has upon us. So beware. Before you start following your dreams, you need to understand what you may come up against, and why. People react to the prospect of success in one of two ways. They can be supportive, appreciative and feel inspired to do something themselves. Or, they can see it as a threat to their idea of the status quo.
Jealousy and resentment are common reactions towards someone who is wealthier, slimmer, or happier say, that we are. These people view success as nothing more than a means of emphasising their own self-imposed limitations. Instead of emulating success, they ridicule it, criticise it and generally do all they can to make that person’s life a misery. External negativity can be dealt with quite simply by physically moving away from it.
Successful people use the bricks that others have thrown at them to build the foundations for their future.
The real problems start however, when this negative garbage has been programmed into your unconscious and therefore it starts coming from your own head.
Nothing kills a dream better than excuses like:
“I really couldn’t”
“I don’t have the time”
“If only things were different”
That’s when you have to make a conscious effort to get to the root cause of these self-doubts and delete the corrupted program. The key to making your unconscious mind supportive of your ambitions is to learn how you can control it.
